lyrics

This world ain’t no place to be down on your luck
stumblin’ your way through the fog
searching for shelter from the wind and the rain
no one wants to pet a wet dog

A hole in your belly and hurt in your heart
and everybody trying to run you off
Whatever happened to your your place in the sun
No one wants to pet a wet dog

When you were younger you never went hungry
you were living’ high on the hog
Now your drawing the short straws
no scratching that itch cause
nobody wants to pet a wet dog

Ahooo, ooh wandering through these empty streets alone
Ahooo, ooh wishing that someone would take you home

When somebody tells you every dog has his day
they’re only giving you a line of talk
Makes ‘em feel better to throw you a bone
no one wants to pet a wet dog

When you were younger you never went hungry
you were living’ high on the hog
Now your drawing the short straws
no scratching that itch cause
nobody wants to pet a wet dog

Now your drawing the short straws
no scratching that itch cause
nobody wants to pet a wet dog
